TabSite announces a further upgrade in mobile friendly tab urls.
As many have experienced, the Facebook mobile site and mobile apps for Android and iPhone do not offer a simple ability to access custom tabs on a fan page.
Facebook limits you in the mobile version to the Wall, Info, Photos, and Activity. For most Facebook Page Admins, this means your custom tabs are hidden from viewers accessing the tab on their mobile device.
However, with TabSite this doesn't have to be the case!

TabSite announces a further upgrade in mobile friendly tab urls.
As you have likely experienced, the Facebook mobile site and mobile apps for Android and iPhone do not offer a simple ability to access custom tabs on a fan page.
Facebook limits you in the mobile version to the Wall, Info, Photos, and Activity. For most apps this means your custom tabs are hidden from viewers accessing the tab on their mobile device.
However, with TabSite this doesn't have to be the case!
TabSite offers multilple ways to get a mobile friendly url to use per tab or sub-page.
TRY NOW:
Option 1: Save & Post to Wall
When you use the TabSite "Save & Post to Wall" feature, this will post an update to your fan page wall and it will link back to the TabSite custom tab you are posting from.
It is programmed so that if the link in the wall post is clicked, TabSite checks to see if it is a mobile browser, and, if so, we deliver a mobile friendly version of the content to the user. (see image)
This powerful feature sets TabSite apart from many fan page platforms and gives TabSite users ability to post updates to their wall about their fan page tabs that can be viewed by mobile users. With mobile use of Facebook continuing to grow and averaging over 40% of normal daily use, this unique TabSite feature of "Post to Wall" enables you to easily reach more fans and give them access to your custom tab creations!
Use the pop-up box to customize your Facebook Fan Page Wall post:
Option 2: Generate a Mobile URL per tab to use anywhere
In the TabSite Manager, open any tab and go to "Save" button. From the Drop Down menu, select the "Save & Get Mobile URL" option as shown below.
When the "Save & Get Mobile URL" is selected, a mobile url will be generated and a box with it will appear like below: (click to see larger view)
This shows you the mobile friendly url and by simply clicking the "Click here to copy the URL" it will copy the url to your clipboard so you can simply go to your fan page wall or elsewhere and paste it.
You'll get a confirmation message that the post was published to your wall. Below is the mobile view from an iPhone of the Facebook wall post and then the custom tab view aftering clicking the link. The image and "Widget Videos" are linked to the custom TabSite tab.
Here's the custom TabSite tab fully viewable in the iPhone Facebook app.
OPTION 3: Copy the Mobile URL from the My Sub-Pages area
The mobile url is also accessible under any tab in the "My Sub-Pages" area accessed via "Open / View Pages" in the drop down menu show below.
So go ahead, give mobile users access to your custom tabs! Mobile Facebook use is over 30% of daily user activity, so take advantage of this opportunity!
EASY. POWERFUL. SOCIAL. TABSITE.

Why a MicroSite?
Facebook custom fan page tabs are rendered by Facebook in a iFrame, thereby limiting the search indexing of content on the tabs. This means your fan page custom tabs, using any application, are not reliably indexed by search engines.
To overcome this and make your fan page content more available across the entire web, we are taking your TabSite Fan Page tabs to the web and integrating features that allows visitors to "Like" your fan page from the website, go to your fan page from the website, and add value to your page by creating more inbound links to your fan page as well as adding easy-share tools to promote more viral sharing of your tab and sub-page content.
CUSTOMIZE YOUR URL: You choose your own custom URL, which are on a first-come-first-serve basis available first to paid plan users only at this time.

The new manager is live in TabSite and is ready for users to build custom tab apps at the new 810 px width. All existing content is available from current TabSite user tabs. As the Facebook API for Timeline grows, we expect to be able to add more features to the TabSite manager area to give you more power to manage and control your fan page items from within TabSite.
We reviewed the new manager area in a recent TabSite webinar and you can view the demonstration excerpt below to learn about the TabSite manager area.
KEY AREAS in the TabSite manager:
Tabs - This is where you can access any tab app you have created. Click the pencil icon next to each tab app icon to access a full menu of tools to add/remove the tab to the page, rename the tab app, and more.

Images - Simply drag and add images to the drag pad, or click it to browse to your computer to load files. Within the manager, you can create folders, delete images, move images to folders and drag images to the work area.
Layers - the power to move widgets to the front (top) view or back so that you can style and create the design of your dreams. Simply drag widgets up to move to the forefront in your design.

My Sub-Pages - Whenever you are working on a tab in the TabSite manager, you can access the Like Gate, create a new sub-page, view existing sub-pages, and view page insights from the drop down menu of My Sub-Pages. Publish and unpublish sub-pages and the Like Gate from the Open / View Pages selection as well.
Facebook's Timeline for Pages is a reality! It's time to begin preparing your Facebook Page for the new look. This means creating images and being aware of the various components and image sizes in Timeline.
We've create a Timeline Infographic to help you prepare!
This question has been asked across the web since the February 29 announcement and launch of Timeline for Facebook Pages.
At first glance it appeared fan gating was dead since the Timeline page with the large cover image is the mandatory default page and the former “Default Landing Page” drop down menu is gone on Timeline Pages.
Clearly, Facebook wants to drive traffic to the Timeline page and make the Timeline for Pages the centerpiece.
However, upon a further in-depth look, fan-gating is NOT dead in Facebook, just different, and strategy must change accordingly with Timeline.
Facebook Tab apps have a unique url and if this unique url is used in promotions on the web, you can direct users directly to the tab app with the fan gating Like Gate active on it.
Formerly, most businesses that added Facebook Page links from their website, blog, and e-mail signatures, would simply have the icon link to their fan page by username such as www.Facebook.com/CKProducts, since you could control the default for new visitors you could have new visitors arrive on your Like Gate.
Now, however, if you want to gain the “Like” before they see content, you’ll want your web assets (links and images that link) to direct users to a specific url that you have a Like Gate active on!
Example:
Header image from CK Products website which as social icons linked to social site urls:
In this case, a company like CK products, would want to switch out there Facebook icon url to a tab app url with a Like Gate like this one using TabSite’s Like Gate feature such as:
Then if a user clicks the social icon, they go to the Facebook Page with the image shown below.
SWEEPSTAKES and CONTESTS:
This will also be critical if you want the users to go to a specific tab to enter a Sweepstakes for example and you want them to “Like” the page prior to getting the entry form.
If users are on Facebook and use Facebook search to find your page, then they’ll still be taken to the Timeline default page. If they haven't yet "Liked" your page and they see the Sweepstakes call-out they will still be . However, the vast majority of users come to your fan page via web links (typically over 80%!).
SUMMARY: So as noted, the url destination link you use for your Facebook icon on your website, blog, and in e-mail blasts becomes more important and strategic now with the launch of Timeline for Facebook Pages.
Be intentional about the url's you use to drive people to your Facebook Page!

We'll review the key changes that Timeline for Pages bring to fan page Admins.
What you need to know, time for questions, and a special segement dedicated to rethinking Like Gate Strategies for effectiveness with Timeline. Plus more on how TabSite is ready with 810 wide Facebook tabs!
One of the most requested but unavailable options to Facebook Fan Page Admins was the option to be able to change your Fan Page Name.
Up to this point, you could only change a Facebook Page name if the Page had fewer than 100 Likes. (Facebook Documentation)
Now with Timeline it appears this has changed for some users!
UPDATE: It seems that it is not available for all users. We are trying to see if we can determine any definitive directives on why or why not it appears for some Fan Pages and not others.
Inside the Admin Panel of a Page with Timeline (or in Preview mode!) under the "Help" drop down is a new feature, "Request a name change for your Page".
Clicking this opens a page with a short form that you can submit to Facebook.
A e-mail from Facebook confirms your submission and outlines if further information is needed. It also outlines that the process should only take up to 3 days!
Just ahead of the pending Facebook IPO, here's a great infographic from AllFacebook showing the history of Facebook in "Timeline style" perspective....
