There will be live demo in the TabSite Manager for approximately 30 minutes followed by a Question and Answer time block.  Again, this is a good starter session for Fan Page Admins.

TabSite is pleased to announce a new addition to the VideoShow widget enabling users to set the videos in the show to auto-scroll to grab users attention and to quickly showcase all videos available for viewing.

The VideoShow widget has always allowed Silver and Gold Plan TabSite users the capability to setup a series of YouTube videos that users can scroll through to see a description of, then select and play in-line on the fan page.  Now with the new enhancement, fan page Admins using TabSite can setup the VideoShow videos to auto-scroll at a set interval across the page. 

This feature helps grab the attention of the visitor and enables them to quickly see there are multiple video options.  The arrow functions to go left and right are still active for the user, enabling them to have power to review the videos of their choice while the auto-scroll draws them in and quickly shows them the videos available for viewing.

A key benefit of the VideoShow widget for your fan page is the ability to pick specific videos to add to the list rather than showing your full YouTube Channel.  Each can have a unique description customized you the Page Admin or use the YouTube description with one-click import.

Now with auto-scroll, the VideoShow widget has even more customization power to enable you to showcase your best videos!

Since March 2011, page admins have not been able to create any new FBML apps, but FBML apps which were already in existence remained functional.

Facebook announced at it's most recent f8 Developer Conference in September, 2011, that:

1. FBML will no longer be supported by Facebook beginning January 1, 2012. (This means no support and no bug fixes)

2. The final official end date when all FBML tabs will cease to work and will be removed from Facebook is set for June 1, 2012.

The time has come for those last holdouts to fully transition to iFrames and depart from the FBML coding completely, and TabSite is an ideal alternative!

History and Information for Fan Page Admins

 1. What is FBML and why do I care?

The answer is that, you don't need to care, unless you already were using FBML on your Facebook Pages.  If you fall in the group that doesn't need to know because you don't have any FBML tabs on your fan page, then feel free to skip down to number 2!

FBML
FBML is Facebook’s original framework for serving custom content on fan page tabs. This content is served by Facebook, which, in short, means the user’s browser never hits the app developer’s server directly.  Instead, Facebook requests the content from the app developer’s server, parses and filters it, and sends it to the browser for display.  The result is content served by Facebook on custom tabs.

Static FBML App
The Static FBML app was an application provided by Facebook that enabled the creation of FBML based Facebook page tabs. To use the application, page admins simply added the app to their page, and then customize the content by coding using FBML code techniques. 

Along with FBML, the Static FBML app will no longer be supported (no help) starting January 1, 2012, and will NO LONGER WORK on pages beginning June 1, 2012.

 2. What is Facebook's preferred method for adding custom tabs to Fan Pages?

iFrame Apps
iFrame Apps are Facebook’s accepted framework for serving content on fan page tabs. Content is served directly by the developer’s server, rather than being proxied by Facebook’s servers. Because the page is hosted externally of Facebook, it can render HTML, CSS and even Javascript just like any external web page does, which was not the same with FBML. iFrame Apps were launched in March of 2011 and are a big improvement. 

All TabSite fan page tabs use iFrame Apps.

 3. I'm not a coder and yet I want a nice, custom fan page.  What should I do?

Possibilities for use of Unlisted Sub-Pages in TabSite:

COUPONS / GIVEAWAYS / DOWNLOADS / E-BOOK DOWNLOAD / PDF DOWNLOAD

1. Give away a Coupon or E-book only after users have submitted a form. (Add your Link to Unlisted Sub-Page in thank you confirmation message that only shows after submission.)

NOTE: The form submission access to a link noted above requires you to get the url via "Copy URL" option and add it as a hyperlink in the "Response Message" body that is displayed after a user submits the form.  This is setup in and requires TabSite's  Editable Form Builder widget at Silver or Gold Plan Levels.

2.Give access to special content on your fan page only to users to whom you give the unlisted url.  (Similar to Unlisted YouTube Videos, the url is not publically available)

3. Design Control: Create custom navigation on your Welcome page using Unlisted Pages!  Would you like complete design control of your navigation and ability to turn off and not use our standard top-of-page navigation for sub-pages?  YOU'VE GOT IT! Use the "Yes/No" Toggle to toggle off the standard sub-page navigation per page, copy the URLs and create your own navigation!

4. Include the Unlisted URL in a e-mail blast to select clients to give them unique content on your fan page!

5. Create a unique Landing Tab for your fan page and link to sub-pages on other tabs you have created.

6. And many more!  Be creative.  Did we miss an awesome use you have found?  Please list a use for unlisted pages in the comments section below!

Note: Unlisted Sub-Pages are a feature at all TabSite Plan levels from free to Gold.

THE BASICS:

Each tab you create with TabSite has ability to have multiple sub-pages in it.  Each of these sub-pages has a unique url just for that sub-page!

New Features:
1 Click 'Copy URL' button per sub-page.  When you go to "My Sub-Pages" in the TabSite Manager (next to Save Button) and click "Open Sub-Pages" you will now see a "Copy URL" button.  Simply click it and the url is copied to your clipboard!

Unlisted Sub-Pages  - THIS IS POWERFUL! - Not only is TabSite one of the few providers to offer sub-pages per tab, now you can create sub-pages in the TabSite Manager but not have the sub-page in your tab top navigation by using our Unlisted feature. 

Use our "Copy URL" function and include the url link on a page and it will open this "hidden" page.  This allows you to (a) create customized navigation within a tab however you wish and use the sub-page urls to have those sub-pages open upon click. (b) Include this "hidden" page in your form thank-you message so that they only get access to this page after submitting their information.  Allow you to link to a coupon sub-page that is only accessible via a button graphic on tab page you create. And more!  Be creative!

EXAMPLE - Unlisted Sub-Page: In the below example, we used the "UnListed Sub-Page" feature to create a link to the Sweepstakes rules and guidelines.  This allows us to give easy access without having the rules and guidelines appear in any navigation on the fan page tabs.
